Excellence in Dance Education
The Cleveland Dance Theatre is committed to providing excellence in dance education in a nurturing but disciplined environment. Highly qualified, professional instructors ensure that each student receives individual attention within the classroom setting. The Cleveland Dance Theatre studios (3000 SF) are designed by and for dancers and are equipped with sprung floors and special flooring surfaces.
The CDT recognizes the benefits of a good ballet foundation, including increased flexibility, improved self-image and self-esteem, increased strength, and stress reduction. CDT instructors teach an eclectic syllabus, with emphasis on the Russian (Vaganova) and English (Royal Academy of Dancing) methods used worldwide. While performance opportunities will be available to students, CDT emphasizes dance education - i.e. learning to dance rather than a dance.
Courses are offered in a variety of disciplines for both the preprofessional and recreational dancer. Special workshops are also offered periodically.
